It's been ~1000 years since I've posted a nail pic.

It's been ~1000 years since I've posted a nail pic. Enjoy this beautiful color on my short little nubs. Gosh, I have missed this like you wouldn't believe.

Currently fighting Facebook about my page name with plans to combine Happy Nails and Polish ALL the Things. I'm hoping to be done with that soon and begin posting there again. Until then, I'm only sharing with you lovely folks.

Please don't judge my nail art or camera-wielding skills too harshly. I'm a rusty, crusty mess right now. 💜

This pink / purple / red glitter...

So I've been studying super hard for tests lately and two of them were yesterday.  When I got home from class - late though it was - I painted my freaking nails BECAUSE I DESERVED A TREAT!

This pink / purple / red glitter is a polish I bought on clearance from Sally's.  It's an Orly called "Explosion of Fun."  It's layered over some kind of bright pink L'Oreal that I will go look at and write the name of if anyone actually cares.  😛

Since I was so tired last night I used whatever was at hand.  The new Orly was within reach (as was my box of pinks), so I went with it.  I thought it looked kind of bright and tropical so I went with flowers as decoration.  I filled them in with white because it, too, was close at hand.  I probably could have been more creative with colors if my brain hadn't been fried from both a Biology and Trigonometry test in the same day, but it is what it is and I'm ok with how it turned out.  🙂

I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to do Valentine's nails...

I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to do Valentine's nails to go with this ring, but I didn't.  Life isn't working out like that right now.  Maybe next year.

Might share a few nail pics from when I had time in my life.  😂  I used to look festive... on my nails - at least.  😛

Did my nails for the first time in over a month....

Did my nails for the first time in over a month. I just couldn't make it happen in May. It's good to have painted nails again! 😃

The other polish ring I made the other day.

3:19 pm:  The other polish ring I made the other day.  I used my favorite color - Essie Demure Vixen.  If no one else likes this ring I might keep it for myself.  😜

3:21 pm:  These are some of my larger (18mm) earrings.  Yes, I had Halloween on the brain.  😂😂😂

These change from blue to purple to almost pink - depending on the light. I love how they turned out.

Neon and black. Had to do at least one!

Ready for Halloween. If no one wants these now, I'm sure they'll sell at OxfordFest in October. 😃

Weird color combo that I couldn't resist.

I did a ring with the brown crackle and gold, and a lot of people seemed intrigued by it. So I thought I'd make some earrings to match.

3:25 pm:  Smaller earrings (12mm) - and now I have studs!  I also have some more paisley in the works.  😃

This totally has flakies in it, but they aren't showing in the photograph. Really pretty in person, though. 🙂

I should have done Earth Day nails...

I should have done Earth Day nails, but I totally forgot it was happening.  🙁  Oh well.  At least there is a flower.  I don't usually wear flowers.

This is the neutral color...

This is the neutral color I was complimented on so long ago.  It was really hard to find something that worked with my skin tone and I actually think that Shauna gave me this.  I don't think I even picked it out.  😂  So she did a great job!

I've wanted to do the glitter gradient tips for SO long.  Finally, here they are.  And a little heart because I don't know when to stop.  😂

Two for one!

7:50 am:  Lazy nails.  Holo glitter gradient and a butterfly for good measure.  Woo.

4:25 pm:  I don't really know what to say about these except that I wanted to practice gradients again - and other than that I had no actual plan at all.  😂  Despite that I think they turned out really neat.  I used three colors for the gradient and then stamped the weird rainbow-y pattern over it.  They are really happy colors and I enjoy looking at them so hopefully I'll be able to keep them on for a few days.  🙂

Simple tape mani.

Simple tape mani. I painted down the funky black glitter, then taped off what I wanted to show, painted black over it, then pulled the tape up. EASY! Everyone should try it. 🙂

These nails are all about texture!

These nails are all about texture!

So the middle two nails are just one of those sandy textured polishes.  This particular one is by Milani and you can get it at Wal-Mart and most drug stores.  I am not used to wearing polishes without topcoat, but topcoat pretty much ruins the effect.  Thankfully it dries pretty fast on its own.

The pinky and pointer are just gray with big funky glitters.  They aren't meant to be textured, but after two thick coats of topcoat I can still feel them and I've already started picking at them.  These might not last past tomorrow.  Or tonight.  😂

Saved the best for last - the thumb.  I saw this technique when I was catching up on reading nail blogs the other day and I just HAD TO TRY IT.  So you paint down your color, then put on the topcoat, then let it get ALMOST dry, then poke it.  😂  It's that simple.  I used one of my dotting tools, but I'm sure that the round part of a pin would do it, as would a hair pin.  Not sure if a toothpick would work since the wood might catch the polish, but anything smooth probably would.

I have to admit that I've groped my nails all day.  They feel so neat.  My favorite is the thumb because you can feel the dents.  I'm also a big fan of the sandy ones.  They feel really nice when you itch.  😃

This is the gradient I did on Saturday.

This is the gradient I did on Saturday. The gradient consists of two different glitters and an extra pink polish. I also stamped on that little flower because one fancy thing is just never enough. 😂

I have been up for the last few hours doing my nails.

I have been up for the last few hours doing my nails.  These are not them.  😂😂😂  These are the ones I did before the ones I just did.  It's a unicorn!

11 - 20/40

Sorry for the still un-wonderful photos.  These patterns are all ok with me.  I don't dislike or super-like any of them so I'm sure I'll wear most of these again.  The middle finger reminds me of ninja throwing stars - the kind that used to come with Shadow's action figures.  I find that funny.  😃

Pointer finger and ring finger are definitely my favorites.  I'm not really a dottie kind of girl so the pinky is "meh".  I like the thumb and the ring finger is interesting.  I can't decide what I think it's supposed to be.  A bow or ribbon or something?  Anyway, these might have too much going on, but I wanted some sparkle.  I'm really enjoying the long confetti glitter pieces in there.  🙂
